RuPaul's Drag Race Season 17 Episode 15

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 17 Episode 15 Recap

The eliminated queens returned to the main stage this week for a second shot at glory and a $50,000 cash prize. The challenge? A no-holds-barred Lip Sync LaLaPaRuza Smackdown!

Racer Chaser breaks down the rounds, the drama, and the surprise finale twist.

This bracket-style tournament pitted the season’s eliminated contestants head-to-head to determine who would find redemption, snatch the prize of $50,000 in cash, and claim the title of “Queen of She Done Already Done Had Herses.”

Round One:

  • Hormona Lisa vs. Lydia B Kollins – Hormona decided she would rather control the battle rather than selecting her opponent. She chose “Say Liza (Liza with a ‘Z’)” by Liza Minelli. Lydia pulled out a theatrical performance to win the round.
  • Suzie Toot vs. Joella – Suzie went the opposite route as Hormona and chose to compete against Joella. “Training Season” by Dua Lipa was Joella’s choice. While some may have thought the song to be out of Suzie’s wheelhouse, Suzie reminded everyone she is a force not to be underestimated. Winner: Suzie Toot.
  • Lucky Starzzz vs. Acacia Forgot – “Step by Step” by Whitney Houston, as chosen by Lucky. Acacia was not in her comfort zone. Lucky brought energy and heart, dancing her way to the win.
  • Arrietty vs. Kori King – Arrietty chose the song: “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” by Pink. Kori may have left the competition, but she did not leave the hearts of the judges. She blew away her competition.
  • Crystal Envy vs. Lana Ja’Rae – The final pairing to compete. Bruno chose who would select the song. Lana chose the disco classic, “You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)” by Sylvester. Lana gave big hair and bold moves to move on.

Round Two:

  • Lucky Starzzz vs. Suzie Toot – “We Found Love” by Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris. It’s a song that doesn’t automatically bring to mind Suzie’s style. Still, Suzie doubled down with theatricality and took the round.
  • Kori King vs. Lana Ja’Rae vs. Lydia B Kollins – A triple face-off. “360” by Charlie XCX. Kori advanced to the final round.

Final Round:

  • Suzie Toot vs. Kori King – In a tight and emotional final battle, “Apt.” by Rosé and Bruno Mars. Suzie claimed the crown, the cash, and the chance to remind the haters that she’s better than them.

With three hard-fought wins in one night, Suzie Toot was officially declared the Queen of She Done Already Done Had Herses.

This episode focused entirely on lip sync performances, so no separate runway presentations took place. The final four queens served some looks even though they didn’t have to, so that was pretty cool. The looks on stage were considered by the judges. Reveals, stunts, tricks, gimmicks, and everything else got left on the runway. But was it fashion?

Every match this episode was a showdown, but the final face-off between Suzie Toot and Kori King stole the show. With dramatic reveals and heartfelt delivery, both queens gave it their all. Suzie’s campy edge (edgy camp?) with new-found fierceness that veered away from her traditional look helped Suzie clinch the win.

Before the battle began, the returning queens shared updates, resolved tensions, and in one case, confirmed romance. Kori King and Lydia B Kollins officially acknowledged their budding relationship. The producers just couldn’t help but throw a bone to the hungry viewers. Arrietty extended a sincere apology to Onya Nurve for her mirror message. It was a moment of healing, glitter, and growth before the finale curtain call.

  • “She Done Already Done Had Herses” – A Drag Race staple catchphrase and this week’s honorary title for the returning queen who slays the smackdown.
  • “LaLaPaRuza” – A fan-favorite tournament-style lip sync format inspired by Lollapalooza that tests charisma under pressure.
  • Suzie’s Reveals – Reveals were aplenty this week, but Suzie stood out. Multiple looks, various styles, and even dance moves no one guessed were in Suzie’s oeuvre. Michelle can’t gripe about Suzie’s staying true to form anymore. Surreal stanky legg, anyone?
