Duck drama. ASMR whispers. Shredded couture. Episode 11 had it all. And that was before the lip sync started. This week, the queens were dropped into a surreal, satirical sketch comedy challenge that featured feathered mayhem and Capote chaos. With Sam Smith on the judging panel and Cheyenne Jackson directing, this episode was a holy mess in all the right ways.
At Racer Chaser, we’re not just chasing queens—we’re chasing every quacky moment.
Main Challenge: “Ross Mathews vs. The Ducks”
This week’s acting challenge took inspiration from legendary writer Truman Capote’s glamorous inner circle but gave it the Drag Race remix: viral vixens, whisper fights, and a surprise duck attack. References galore in this challenge. The queens were split into pairs (and one solo performance), each starring in their own eccentric sketch.
- Onya Nurve and Lana Ja’Rae played rap moguls Drippy Q and Big Fupa. Their timing, chemistry, and unhinged improv had the judges cackling. Onya, in particular, proved she’s not just a look queen but a scene stealer.
- Sam Star and Lydia B Kollins were paired as an oddball ASMR Southern belle and a proctologist. Yes, really. Sam gave us every breathy whisper and exaggerated twang we could’ve hoped for.
- Lexi Love and Suzie Toot portrayed warring washed-up soap stars, with Suzie’s Real Housewives–meets–Jocelyn Wildenstein energy making it clear she’s a camp queen at heart.
In the end, Onya Nurve took the win and pocketed another $5,000. The judges praised her commanding presence and ability to elevate the material.
Runway Category: “Black and White Ball”
Inspired by Truman Capote’s legendary masquerade of the same name, this week’s runway asked the queens to bring monochrome realness.
- Onya Nurve gave us a couture black swan look with layered tulle, feathered lashes, and a body-hugging silhouette that channeled Björk and fit the episode’s main challenge perfectly.
- Sam Star leaned into jester energy, mixing geometric prints with exaggerated shoulders and a crisp face mask. If Beetlejuice went to fashion school, it’d look like this.
- Suzie Toot pounced onto the stage in a full cat-inspired vintage fringe-tastic look that had tons of movement. The cat makeup was subtle and gorgeous. Not-at-all-Suzie while being totally-Suzie.
- Jewels Sparkles also walked out in a cat-themed outfit but completely different in that this was inspired by her favorite fashion illustrator.
Lip Sync Showdown
Lydia B Kollins and Lana Ja’Rae found themselves in the bottom, with one final chance to prove their worth in a lip sync to “Unholy” by Sam Smith and Kim Petras.
- Lana committed hard, channeling the drama of the song and hitting a fierce split that had the judges gagged.
- Lydia gave it her all but was visibly limited by her tight dress. Mid-performance, she tried to cut it open for more mobility. The stunt backfired. Instead of a slay, we got a fabric fumble. It was painful to watch.
Lana Ja’Rae stayed, proving once again that splits save lives. Lydia B Kollins was asked to sashay away. No Badonka Dunk Tank saves at this point.
Werk Room Watch
Last week’s mirror message from Arrietty left a shady little crack, calling out Onya Nurve by name over a medical condition. The girls clocked it immediately, and the tension lingered all episode. Onya brushed it off, but you could tell the comment stung.
References, Puns & Gags Explained
- “Ross Mathews vs. The Ducks” – A surreal acting challenge spoofing Truman Capote’s circle of socialites affectionately known as “swans”. Instead of elegance, we got chaos.
- Reference Realness – The list of references in this episode deserves a complete post by itself. From Lisa Rinna and Lisa Vanderpump to “I don’t know her…” We’ll get back to this list another time.
- Black and White Ball – The real-life 1966 party that inspired this week’s runway. Capote had the stars. Our queens had claws.
